When we talk about Egypt, the first thing people have in mind is the pyramids—its history and mystery. Maybe we just used to sit in class and listen to our teachers tell us about it and wonder how it would feel when you get on a camel ride, gaze at those giant pyramids, and walk on the desert.
It’s springtime when I spent a holiday in Egypt. Freezing to the bones at night and hot as hell at day. With the intense weather I feel like coming home to Thailand the week after. My friend asked me why in the world I went to Egypt. Well, maybe it’s just one of the things I want to do before I die—explore history.
What always comes with me is my eagerness for the vague. Guess that’s how the pyramids became famous—it gets people to think of its mystery beneath the shape.
However, a journey to Egypt wasn’t about digging into the mystery like a few of the foreign wanderers. I favor leaving the unknown as it is. There are things in life that should leave us wondering. Some things known and some things unknown. There will always be opposites—it’s nature.
A vacation in Egypt is for one reason that someday I can tell myself that once upon a time in my life I WAS ONCE THERE because I believe that I can always make things happen with the faith I have in MYSELF.
